Costa Rican Masked Tree Frog

Last August, while I was on a missions trip to Costa Rica, we got to spend a day in Punta Leona.  While in this tropical paradise we found Costa Rican Masked Tree Frogs breeding at a construction site on the grounds where we were staying.  We also spotted a few in the jungle among many other species of frogs.  We discovered that these Masked Tree Frogs are what's called sexually dimorphic, meaning the males and females are different colors.  The males were a lime green coloration primarily and the females were mostly a drab brown color.  The females were also significantly larger than the males.  These robust and vocal frogs were a welcomed treat to find in the jungle!
